Prepare for every journey
The Coupé has always been the heart of Nimbus, the boat you live in comfort, together, all year round. The Sport Coupé 35 is that Coupé built as a Sport Cruiser, on the hull of the Sport Tender 35, fast, dry and steady when the waves pick up, with the feel of a heavy, solid boat in a light hull. The result is something new from Nimbus, a boat that drives like a Sport Cruiser and lives like a Coupé.
It adapts to almost every activity on the water, fishing from the stern, swimming from the balcony, lunch for eight on the foredeck, with three living spaces that change with the day. The crossing in the morning, dinner across the bay in the evening, the weekend at anchor and the holiday onboard.
The boat you want to drive and the boat you want to live on, now one and the same.
Seakeeping and handling, built to be solid
Underneath is the hull the boat testers drove at Cannes this September, the air-lubricated twin-stepped hull of the 35 series, vacuum-infused in one piece with its beams around a Divinycell core, a build that makes the boat stiff, light and insulated at once. The Sport Coupé takes the same thinking up into the superstructure, where the saloon, the cabin sides and the galley are built from as few parts as possible.
The result is the feel of a heavy boat, solid, steady and quiet in the sea, in a light boat that rides on top of the waves. No creaks and no squeaks, a low planing threshold, and a ride free of slamming in a choppy sea even when you hold your speed. On the same hull, the Sport Tender 35 reached 48.5 knots with twin Mercury Verado V8 300 in Mercury Marine’s sea trials in August.
In car language a coupé is the sporty one, low, sleek and fast. In Nimbus language a Coupé is the boat you live on. We designed the 35 hull to do everything a day on the water asks of it, and then we wanted the most comfort while you travel, so we gave it everything a Nimbus Coupé is known for. Put the two together and you have a Coupé in both senses of the word, a new kind of Nimbus Sport Coupé.

Three living spaces that change with the day
The Sport Coupé 35 has three living spaces, the foredeck, the aft deck and the saloon, and each changes with the day. The foredeck is made for much more than sunbathing. Without cushions it is a working deck with secure, non-slip footing for boarding and handling ropes. With the cushions and the sun beds it is the biggest place onboard to lie in the sun, and with the table up, eight people sit around it for lunch, high up with the view ahead.
The aft deck is built around an L-shaped sofa with a backrest all round. Five or six sit around the table. Set it for dinner, fold the backrest halfway forward to sit facing the stern with your feet towards the bathing platform, or fold it flat into a sun bed. The side balcony folds out down to the water at anchor, and for owners who fish, the sofa seat folds up to give room to stand at the stern, with the fillet surfaces built in.
The canopy was designed in from the start. The side panels pull out from covers at the door posts in moments, the aft panel folds up into the roof, and the aft deck goes from open and airy to closed against wind and water. A sliding glass door joins the aft deck to the saloon as standard. As an option, an electrically lowered window and a folding glass door open the two into one room.
The Sidewalk, easy in and easy out
The Sidewalk is the asymmetrical deck layout Nimbus Coupés are built around. The side deck to starboard is extra wide from the aft deck to the bow, so it is easy and safe to get on and off along the whole side, while to port the deck is raised and the room goes inside, to a bigger saloon and headroom down to the mid cabin.
At the helm a new side door slides open straight onto the side deck, and below it a small side gate in the hull opens for stepping straight onto the quay. With joystick docking and an integrated bow thruster, one person can bring the boat alongside alone.
Helm and dash
The helm sits to starboard, beside the Sidewalk, the same clean helm as on the Sport Tender 35, with as little as possible in the way.
The throttle, the wheel and the wipers on paddles at the wheel sit closest to hand, with the horn and the volume on the wheel too. A single 16-inch or two 12-inch displays run Nimbus's own interface, and the dashboard is in matte anthracite, so nothing reflects in the windscreen.
The saloon and the galley
The galley sits up in the saloon with everyone, built in as part of the superstructure, with a gas or electric hob, a double sink with a generous mixer tap and clean fronts with nothing to catch on.
Glass roof hatches slide open to the sky, and fixed glass in the roof over the aft deck lets the daylight in. A solid roof in place of a canvas one keeps the saloon quiet and dry.
Room to stay below deck
Ventilation is built in and out of sight, and the big foredeck hatch takes the bags straight down when you arrive and the warm air straight out after a hot day in harbour.
A fore cabin with a larger and wider double berth, wardrobes as standard for the longer trips, a head with a shower, and a mid cabin that is easy to get into thanks to the headroom the raised side deck gives.
The saloon, the heart of a Nimbus Coupé
The saloon is built for the way a Coupé is used, for travelling together and for staying. Everyone rides in one warm, dry room, whoever cooks stays part of the company, and the dinette sets for a real dinner, lowers into a lounge for the evening with a film on the optional fold-down screen, and makes up into a bed for a night onboard. Under way the front sofa flips so two ride facing forward.
Historically, the Coupé is what Nimbus is best known for. Our Coupé owners live with their boats, with family and friends, all season long, so the cosy things matter to them. Cooking up in the saloon with everyone around, a lounge to sink into at the end of the day, a canopy that closes in moments when the rain comes in. That is peace of mind. The Sport Coupé brings all of it to the 35 series, and it is a seriously good-looking boat.

Who the Sport Coupé 35 is for
The Sport Coupé 35 is for people who want one boat for the whole year, for the Coupé owner who has wanted the Sport Cruiser hull under the saloon, for the Sport Tender owner who wants to stay the night, and for the couple who run the boat themselves and want it easy and safe. It is a boat for company onboard, eight around the foredeck table, friends on the aft deck, the whole crew together in the saloon.
Like the 495 and the Sport Tender 35, the Sport Coupé 35 brings together what people love into something new. It has the same hull and the same solid build as the Tender, with the exceptional seakeeping and handling the boat testers praised at Cannes. To that we add the living comfort Nimbus has always been known for. You get one boat to use all year, for a day out, a long journey or a summer onboard. That is what Crafted for Living means to us.

The right engines for the boat
Nimbus has a clear view on power, the right engines for the boat. The Sport Coupé 35 is offered with Mercury outboards, a single V10 or twin V8 300, and the twin V8 suits this hull very well. For owners who prefer an inboard there is a Volvo Penta D6, which brings the look of an inboard boat and a large bathing platform, with stowage in the platform and a big locker under an extended sun bed.
